Happy New Moon Lovelies!!!
The first new moon of 2024 falls on Jan. 11th at 3:57am PT.
To start off this post, center yourself in your Heart and in Unity with the Heart of the Cosmos with a tidbit of the vedic astrology of today's New Moon. This report comes from one of my favorite teachers, Anandashree (Kari Fields). Following the New Moon report, this post dives a little into understanding our relationships with ourselves, each other and the cosmos.
May all your connections, creations, and moments in the solar cycle ahead be blessed with renewal, ease, and Grace.

This lunar reset kicks off a cycle of new hope and future vision. There’s a growing regenerative energy within this new moon, and tuning into it can help you recalibrate and heal your nervous system.
Seize this time to look within, recharge, and envision your year to come. The dark days leading up to it may feel challenging, but this new moon has a spark of hope that will brighten as the moon gets fuller later this month. Keep your heart open to new possibilities coming into your life.
This new moon falls in the area of the sky known as Purva Ashadha, the “invincible star.” In Vedic Astrology, Purva Ashadha is symbolized by an elephant tusk, and is connected to the Hindu god, Ganesha, who is revered as the “Remover of Obstacles.” It is said that under the influence of Purva Ashadha there is no defeat.
Fiery Mars also influences this new moon, amplified by the expansive and altruistic influence of Jupiter (in parivartana yoga). After January 11 is a good time for envisioning travel, education and activities that give a sense of adventure.
On January 14, one of the most ancient festivals on earth, Uttarayan (or Makara Sankranti) is celebrated in India with kites flown from rooftops. It’s said that this sacred day is a cosmic reset for the sun, and that when one flies a kite, a part of their spirit elevates towards the sun’s infinite possibilities.
If you feel lost, worried, or frozen in winter’s cold grip, connect with the sun and your inner truth now. The daylight hours are already lengthening, and this new moon brings a promise of new light.

Happy New Year and Happy New Moon
As we open to the energies of new beginnings, plant seeds for the year ahead, and surrender any lingering vibrations of dissonance to the past, we each have the opportunity to use the supportive energies of the Earth, the Moon, and the reflection of the entire Cosmic Family of Belonging to understand the intricate nature of our own individual and collective consciousness. In the framework of understanding the microcosmic/macrocosmic relationships of Life, we can use a wide-range of systems along the path of deepening our understanding of the Truth and the Nature of Self and discovering and understanding Self-actualization and further, Self-embodiment.
This is a path of returning to the Soul, to the Heart, a journey that each one of us and all of us, as a synergistic whole, are experiencing. For each of us, this journey is unique in circumstance and environment, and yet we are-and we live amongst essential, foundational energies and flows, fields, and collapsed wave functions that we experience as a shared reality and as individuals within an Illusion of Separation. There is the ever-present impulse of the Spiraling evolution of Life, of which we are a part. We witness this impulse in our world and are guided by this impulse internally, at the deepest levels of our Being. So, on this journey of Self discovery, of returning to the Heart and Soul, of shedding this Illusion of Separation, we continually come together with each other, drawn vibrationally to those connections which create and empower our experience and our spirit.
Each day we are creating connections and relationships with those individuals we resonate with. When our connection with another being creates a dissonant vibration, that brings the opportunity to evolve through empathy, healing, compassion, forgiveness and Love. We also connect with individuals within a harmonious vibration with whom our connection creates a field of expanding and intensifying Energy, Love, and Creativity. Harmonious connections also offer a unique cauldron for healing and transformative work,
as intimacy and trust deepens and creates a space to transform.
These are two simple examples, polarities if you will, and we've all experienced that Life is actually full of a vast spectrum of connections, family, friends, peer groups, spiritual community, each taking different shapes and details, and more- it's a global village now. We are all here, with agency, knowledge, and the power that brings a strength and courage to transform. When One faces the Truth in their Heart, heals the wounds of their Heart, and embraces the willingness to Be Here Now, to Be One's Self, to be One, we discover in each moment, with ourcellves, with each other, connecting heart-to-heart that we are Love, within a field of Love, that microcosmic/macrocosmic relationship of all Life.
Our conscious Awareness is Light, We shine it outward as we witness the world and each other, and we shine it inward into our shadow side, to heal and balance the darkness as we come to know the infinite dimensions within the Body, the Mind, the Spirit, and the Soul. In this space, guiding our Will with Self-Love, and recognizing at the same time, that there is only One Self, our connections become like lock- and-key, karmically fitting together, and we open doors to awaken and heal each other, to empower and support each other, to cocreate vast amounts of energy and transform our lives, our world, and in the macrocosm, the entire Universe.
We all evolve together, it isn't on a linear timeline and it isn't dictated by the 'how, what and why' working of the Mind. Unity Is. Object/Subject relativity is a framework and perspective of the mind, that creates and perpetuates identification with the ego character- that we each learn to play and must learn to let go. We can let go of our resistance to connecting with our Heart. It is the seat of our Soul. When we surrender our attempts to maintain the Illusion of Separation, stop using our relationships to validate each other's egos or to avoid leaving our comfort zones; we create an incredible space and force for healing on an individual/microcosmic basis that also enters our Collective Consciousness, intensifying the capacity for the awakening and healing of more Hearts, and the transformation of our world on our path of Becoming, Evolving, and Harmonizing.
That's some background energy to expand our cognitive horizons. Take a moment, to embrace these ideas, take a few deep breaths and seek to move your awareness into your heart. We've done our best to give you a generalized cosmic and internal view of these ideas, but we all are indeed spiritual beings having a very human experience. So, we all know that many of these ideas have proven challenging and even heart-breaking in the past.
How do we navigate the mundane interactions, the give and take of interpersonal relationships?
Well, read below for a wonderful question and answer segment, from my teacher Ram Dass, for some guidance on creating sacred relationships. If you resonate with his advice, I highly encourage you to seek more of his teaching, which can be found at this link:
We are the One, experiencing itself as the many.
I AM because WE ARE

Question: The problem seems to be that when you are in a relationship, in the beginning everything is happening, but when you marry that person it changes.
I’ve been in several relationships, major relationships, and been married and divorced twice and I’m searching for something special. Something I’ve been told has been called a soul mate. Do you believe in such a relationship or person and what would that mean? How would I know that?
Ram Dass: Got it! Keep looking! I’ll give you the farthest out answer first and then we’ll come back to something that everybody can handle. In the farthest out answer, we have all been around so many times that every one of us has been everything with everybody else. So when I look at you, you and I have been in so many relationships together. It’s just that we don’t remember.
Do you know how many times we have been born and died? Remember that story, Buddha says: If you take a mountain six miles long and six miles wide and six miles high, that’s the distance a bullock walks in a day. And a bird flies over the mountain once every hundred years with a silk scarf in its beak and brushes the tip of the mountain. In the length of time it takes the scarf to wear away the mountain, that’s how long you have been doing this. Just think about that. Once every hundred years the scarf goes over. A scarf and a mountain. It goes on and on and on. In India there are Yugas and Kalpas of hundreds of thousands of years and then they just start cycles all over again. And we’ve been through all of them again and again.
Now, behind all of it is the One. And that is all there is. All of us here are One in drag, appearing to be many. So we are all “soul mate”.
There is only one of it. It’s not mate, because it’s not even two. It’s only one. There’s only one of us. So what you’re really doing is constantly marrying yourself at the deepest level of God marrying God. Now you come down into soul. And each soul has a unique karmic predicament, you could call it a psychic DNA code, that guides which way its life will go. And it is entirely possible that when souls take birth into parents that are part of their Karma, they will meet a being and they have agreed in advance to come down to meet. And that’s what we usually call soul mate.
What you have found from your past marriages is that what you are attracted to in a person isn’t what you ultimately live with.
After the honeymoon is over, then you are left with the work to do. And it’s the same work. When you trade in one partner for another, you still have the same work. You’re going to have to do it sooner or later when the pizzazz is over. And it just keeps going over. And you can’t milk the romanticism of relationship too long as you become more conscious. It’s more interesting than that. It really is. And people keep wanting to romanticize their lives all the time. It’s part of the culture. But the awakening process starts to show you the emptiness of that form. And you start to go for something deeper.
You start to meet another human being in truth. And truth is scary. Truth has bad breath at times, truth is boring, truth burns the food, truth is all the stuff. Truth has anger, truth has all of it.
And you stay in it and you keep working with it and your keep opening to it and you keep deepening it. Every time you trade in a partner, you realize that there’s no good or bad about it. I’m not talking good or bad about this.
But you begin to see how you keep coming to the same place in relationships, and then you tend to stop. Because it gets too heavy. Because your identity gets threatened too much. For the relationship to move to the next level of truth requires an opening and a vulnerability that you’re not quite ready to make. And so you entrench, you retrench, you pull back and then you start to judge and push away and then you move to the next one. And then you have the rush of the openness and then the same thing starts to happen.
And so you keep saying, “Where am I going to find the one where this doesn’t happen?” And it will only happen when it doesn’t happen in you.
When you start to watch the stuff and get quiet enough inside yourself, you can take that process as it’s happening and start to work with it. And you can keep coming back to living truth in yourself or the other person even though it’s scary and hard.
