Instruction for Life in the 21st Century

Make yourself an altar
bring beauty all around you
from the winged ones,
irridescent feathers
whorled shells from sea's edge
crystals who carry
the heartbeat of the earth
flowers culled from
the gardens of the world
light a thousand candles,
watch the dance of their flames
then open you soul wide and
sing praise to all that is good.
Make yourself a family,
in whatever form you
see as such
for it is what will keep you
---your family, your tribe---
from going mad in this
madly insane world.
Make yourself a poem
with words that soothe,
scintillate, inspire
wrap yourself within its power
then shout it
from every street corner
the world needs it.
Breathe in the moment.
Notice everything.
Love is all there is.
Radiate it.
