Lalla Ded ~*~ A 14th Century Kashmiri Saint

Exploring the Realms of Truth

Lalla is our ancestor from India, all of us.
She was One with the pure, greater Self that we are all, also, one with.
She explored the parallel worlds and realities of energies,
coexisting in layers within and alongside our own.
She reaches deep into our shared Soul and brings to life the Truth,
that we are, that we create, that we live, breath, die, and continue, evolving.

Here are some selected works by Lalla:

I came by the public road
but won’t return on it.
On the embankment I stand, halfway
through the journey.
Day is gone. Night has fallen.
I dig in my pockets but can’t find
a cowry shell.
What can I pay for the ferry?

Whatever work I've done,
whatever I have thought,

was praise with my body
and praise hidden
inside my head.

For ever we come, for ever we go;

For ever, day and night, we are on the move.

Whence we come, thither we go,

For over in a round of birth and death,

From nothingness to nothingness.

But sure, a mystery here abides,

A something is there for us to know

(it cannot all be meaningless)

trapped my breath in the bellows of my throat:
a lamp blazed up inside, showed me who I really was.

I crossed the darkness holding fast to that lamp,

Scattering its light-seeds around me as I went.

Resilience: to stand in the path of lightning.

Resilience: to walk when darkness falls at noon.

Resilience: to grind yourself fine in the turning mill.

Resilience will come to you.

Holy books will disappear, and then only the mystic formula will remain. When the mystic formula departed, naught but mind was left. When the mind disappeared naught was left anywhere, And a voice became merged within the Void.
