The Courage to Dance
a New World into Being
~*~
The western and business worlds have officially entered the new year and today is also the New Moon in Capricorn. While I personally only follow the Gregorian calendar in order to work with the majority of others, in business and mundane realms. I work spiritually and personally with the Dreamspell calendar and the Moon/Womb cycle calendar of my own body. I also lean heavily into the exploration of astrology and working with cosmic influences.
All of these cycles and calendars are aligning now, in such a way that the energies abounding within and around us, are ripe for supporting new beginnings. We are being held in the fertile ocean womb of creative potential by the collective consciousness of the Universe, the planets, the Earth herself. We are like the seeds hibernating thru winter and waiting to burst into Life. Right now, collectively we have a wave of releasing the stagnation and resistance of the past.
This active releasing, clears our personal and collective consciousness to allow space for ourselves and our creations to take root and begin to grow a new world, in harmony with the lessons we've learned, in Oneness with each other, our Earth Family, our Cosmic cousins, and in Sacred Union with the Divinity within us.
It is in the Spirit of this energy that I've chosen some of the poems that have most moved me throughout this past year on my own personal spiritual, healing, and creative paths. There are poems here from others and myself. My hope is that you take a few calming breaths and center yourself in your heart, then take each one of these poems in, both for the individual message it has to offer you and for the stories and lessons they weave together as a collection. They are like all of us in that way.
I encourage you to be inspired to ignite the Fire within you- that burning flame of Self-Awareness and awaken to your personal power as a Dreamer, Creator, Dancer, Healer, Teacher, Lover, Friend.

Centerpoint
by Molly Remer
Sometimes
at the ragged edges
of an unruly world
when life feels undone
there is a quiet
centerpoint
in which to dance
your unbound prayers.

Vision Tree
by Angela Bigler
In my dream I met an oak tree who saw everything.
The oldest mother in the endangered world. She still felt the blood of life deep in the soil. "There are things worth growing for, " she said to me.
I saw the way her roots wove into the ground,
connected for miles to siblings and saplings.
"Open all you eyes," she said.
I saw the painted ducks floating in the stream,
a white-tailed deer and her daughter in the field.
I saw the mountain and it's quiet breath,
the ocean full of colored songs- all these lives together.
Water in the earth, in the clouds, in my body, in the tree.
I thought of the people and how much we need healing.
"What do we do?," I asked the tree, kneeling at her feet.
"Rise up," she said, "Come together- wail and love and fight."
"But how?"
"Stretch out your branches and call to your tribe,
they will reach out and find you, sisters united.
Go forth in action, your roots joined as one."
"And what if we fail?" I worried.
She straightened her trunk as she answered,
"Rise up again. I did not grow this tall in an instant."

Untitled
by Stephanie A. Sellers
If you are waiting for Kali
or Mary or the Moon
to speak to you before
your holy life can begin
before you know certainly
there is magic here
if you are waiting for your body
to look like yoga journals and
your third eye to beam rainbows
the thousand-petal lotus in your crown
to start channeling wisdom
before you can love like a saint
just open your ordinary hands
and look what is written there

Dancing the Planet
by Susa Silvermarie
The turmoil of our times
dances round the world,
stamping, frenzied, furious-
Kali destroying, Durga creating.
In the storm that tosses tiny earth,
let us cry and whirl with them.
Earth's equilibrium demands
that we dance the planet.
Lightening flashes all around us,
but even as we shudder,
we shall be the rods that ground it.
As we mediate the thresholds,
let us earth each other.
Though we shake and tremble,
we become conductors,
transmitters of the Change.
Let it turn us inside out
until protection disappears, until
we wear our hearts outside our shell.

Too Awake
by Molly Remer
Be Too awake.
Trust the trembling forest
place your hands on hot earth,
on cold stones,
in living streams.
Look for bridges into mystery
and thresholds into knowing
formed of leaning trees
and embracing roots.
Be too awake and let wings of wonder
carry you into clouds of magic
winding wisps of pleasure
through your blood and bones.
Be too awake
and drink
all kinds of moonlight
curling yourself
into caves and grooves
alive with meaning.
Be Too awake
for the world is full of birds
and you can feel the singing
in your soles and skin.
Be too awake
for there are lakes of longing
within you
let your buried power
rise and breathe,
for it is in being too awake
that you will know yourself
as whole and here.
Be too awake
even if it is the only thing
you have left to be.

The Dancing Species
by Emily Kedar
We are the dancing species. Practice this sacred power.
We are shapeshifters, sheltering the common spark of all form
in the curling ribbon of changing breath.
Try on other skins, and move around in them.
Become spring rain, blood lusting tiger, watchful gazelle.
One beat to the next,
Become anything, all by falling through space and catching yourself,
Falling and catching, falling and catching,
Music carrying you beyond and through all form.
Practice this power. Let it ground you, feed you.
Shapeshifter, lean in
To the rhythm, fall through space,
Body melt into song's silent light,
Change, change, change,
Now water, now flame,
Now the big wave grief,
now the clear night of desire,
all woven into bodies
falling in time.
Oh dancer,
become the breath itself,
here you are Vanishing
And you've never
been more here.

The Next Ones
by Xochi Balfour
We can show the next ones fear,
Or we can teach them where to look for courage.
We can show them that wealth is made only of things,
Or we can try to nurture those riches that reach beyond.
We can show them a planet and Mother we abuse and fragment,
Or we can get creative with ways to heal this forgetfulness
-they came at a time where there's no other choice,
And they will have work to do.
We can raise them to heed, hush, and fit in
Or let them show us they're not here for that,
And it seems to me we would do well to listen
And expand our containers
With all the patience and strength we can muster.
We will snap, we will shout, we will lose it again and again,
But the next ones must know
That there's a new way on the horizon:
A future remembering,
Where the songs and codes of Before and After
Ignite in change,
And bring us back home
To each other,
The earth
And the Mother
Of us all.

Cosmic Family Name
by Susa Silvermarie
Belonging's no goal, only the state of everything.
Not a sense or feeling, merely what the stars do in relation.
Belonging is the cosmic family name.
When false aloneness sweeps through you,
smile at the misperception,
bow to the misunderstanding.
May the shaking hearts,
yours, mine,
grow as they quake.
Let belonging reveal
yearnings inside one other,
and a union unshakeable.
Close your eyes.
Find inside the cauldron of belonging.

Musings
by Amaya Sita Kalki
The interface between interactions
The field between poles, between Hearts.
The silent meanings unspoken,
When your gaze- so heavy with emotion
looks into me, wanting...
The weight of what we claim doesn't matter
The heaviness of heartache is.
Explain to me the gravity of emotions,
and I will show you a secret
under the fabric of reality.
What is it that holds all of this together?
That is not an unknown Truth,
nor even a hard one to find.
It's the Love in your Heart and mine.

Happy New Now, I know you'll create great things. As always,
Be the Light
Be the Love
Be Yourself

May the Grace of the Goddess remove our Ignorance and guide us to remember Peace, Harmony, and Inspiration
in the flow towards the Heart of Unity.
